  • Born in 1808 V. S. Kaji Amar Singh Thapa was one of the Brilliant stars of Nepalese history. Being a gallant son of the soil he stood as firm as the Himalayas to safeguard the territorial integrity and independence of Nepal. Born brave with the heart of a lion and devoted to the crown and country Mr. Thapa proved himself the most dreadful adversary of the Britishers during the Anglo-Nepalese war. Died peacefully at holy Gosainthan he is remembered by all as our famous national dignitary and is regarded to this day as the perpetual source of inspiration in the task of nation-building.
