  • Essential for daily worship and festive celebrations, flowers in Nepal are also used traditionally as tokens of welcome and felicitation. The four depicted in these stamps: rhododendron, narcissus, marigold and poinsettia, are all extensively grown and widely popular in our country. They are frequently described in folk lore and folk songs and have been objects of inspiration to poets throughout the ages. The scarlet rhododendron which beautifies our hills and valleys in the springtime has been designated our national flower.
