  • It is universally accepted drug use tells heavily on the consciousness of human beings affecting their very psyche. Abuse of drugs and their trafficking which is galloping day by day in the contemporary world poses a great challenge to the authorities around the world. This problem has taken on an epidemic form, the SAARC countries too being no exception.
  • Happily however the fourth SAARC summit has committed themselves to observe 1989 as SAARC Year for “combating drug abuse and drug trafficking”. Nepal has been organizing through a national level committee various activities and events with a view to making people more aware of the dangers posed by drug abuse in the society.
